Evening all,

I just looked over the BAFA documents again and stumbled upon the load management bonus.

It requires that 30 liters of buffer be available per kW of heating capacity – which, for example, is fulfilled by our domestic hot water storage tank.

Unfortunately, I can't find any concrete explanation of the word "buffer"... maybe someone has already inquired about this there?

As far as I am informed, it does not matter whether it is a domestic hot water, heating, or combination storage tank. The purpose of it is that excess electrical energy from the grid can be buffered as thermal energy. Whether you use it for heating or showering is ultimately irrelevant.

Oh, great - every euro can be useful towards the end of the house construction.

Thank you for the explanation.

Why only at the end? Surely even more then...
But 1-2 euros more at the beginning wouldn't be bad either.

Because it gets tight in the end - you'll notice that yourself eventually. Especially with your planning.

At the beginning, money is usually plentiful.

We can already notice that very clearly now, sleepless nights and all. But that's how it goes sometimes, the architect makes great plans, it will be the most beautiful house in the world,...

But building is all about goodwill and making compromises. Staying realistic and bringing everything onto solid foundations.
