Meal time,

the majority of my apartment is clad with gypsum fiber boards. I will apply a diffusion-open primer on them, then a diffusion-open fine structure plaster (lime-based), and finally it will be painted. Here I also want to be diffusion-open, which means a lime-based paint is to be used?

The goal of all this is that the gypsum fiber boards can absorb some room humidity. I do not want to "seal off."

Are the standard paints the right choice here, e.g., Alpinaweiß, or do I need something else?

I have read, for example, that anti-mold paint is nothing other than a lime-based paint. The shade should be white or matte white.

What would you recommend? If possible, I would like a paint that I only have to apply once. The fine structure plaster is already almost white enough to leave as it is. I just want to do a final coat.

We painted with Sol-Silicate paint - it is vapor-permeable and can also be applied on gypsum. Otherwise, the internet says that you should glue fleece to avoid cracks. The lime paint also adheres to the fleece. Whether a primer is sufficient can perhaps be answered by someone else.

Aren't these silicate paints more suitable for outdoor use?

Sorry, a quick clarification: 1. Alpinaweiß is a dispersion paint and therefore not breathable 2. pure silicate paint does not work on gypsum plaster, at most dispersion silicate 3. lime paint works great on lime plaster

As always, I am overwhelmed by the amount of information and offers available to choose from...

I like the lime paint in this regard because it is very natural and not sealed. However, I have now read that it tends to turn white when touched, the coverage leaves something to be desired, and that you have to repaint every few years because the paint yellows. In addition, overpainting, wallpapering, or similar is only possible to a limited extent. So if there is lime paint on it, then it is on it and can only be removed from the wall with great effort. In terms of mold protection, however, it is supposed to be very good. I do not expect mold to occur in my apartment, but if you can carry this treasure with you, that is of course good.

What can you say about it? Most plasters usually contain not only lime but also cement and similar. Does lime paint not cause problems there?

Can lime paint be truly bright white like a modern "super covering" wall paint made from xy substances?

As mentioned... Sol-silicate paint - we have lime-cement plaster and gypsum board on the ceilings upstairs. Everything was painted with it and looks good.
