Hello.

We are currently unsure whether the light is sufficient in the room above the garage (top right on the plan). At the moment, only a gable window is planned on the east side (size approximately 2 doors).
The room is 7 meters long.

Basically, we are also considering possibly dividing the room into two. On the gable side, a larger room and in front of it a small passage room, for example with a guest bed.

How do you assess the lighting situation?
What options would there be? Roof windows?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

What is the purpose of the room? More light is always good... one or two skylights facing north (no sun protection necessary) is always possible...

Hello.

Purpose of the room on the gable side: hobby room, possibly 3rd children's room.
Pass-through room: guest room.

I would then really consider adding 3 large skylights facing north - especially if you still want to add walls or similar there.

Hello bluminger,

even though I still find the house a bit "oversized" for your needs, I would definitely install skylights. This way you can divide the room without creating a dark space, and a 3rd child would certainly also enjoy a bit of a view of the garden/driveway. I would go for it and not worry about whether the large double window is enough :)

Wishing you much success with the building! I like the house otherwise :)

PS: can your honey also be bought or is it for personal use only?
