What "one" does or does not do is an indication of what is either fashionable or has proven to be practical. Engaging with the current standards is worthwhile to not overlook anything. In the end, it really does not matter what "one" does. Any deviation from it can have good reasons, as is the case with wall lights.

The wall lights marked in green are only partially "random" to me. A switchable light source centrally located on the very narrow entrance wall could set a positive accent. This idea is, for example, understandable to me in conjunction with a picture. The other light sources, in my view, do not add value at first glance without an explanation of a lighting concept.

One switchable socket each for a floor lamp next to the sofa along the outer wall and in the corner of the room by the dining table would be sensible from my perspective, as would a staircase light with a motion sensor that gently illuminates the steps.
