Hello, Our construction company is currently doing the interior work on our house. The screed has already been laid. From when could you start with your own work on the floor installation (tiles/click vinyl)? Of course before the kitchen arrives and before our staircase is installed. We would of course want to start as soon as possible.

Has the CM measurement already been done? Or is the contractor pushing that cost onto you now because he’s not laying floors anyway? Screed drying takes approximately 6 weeks. I would recommend doing the installation only after the contractor’s workers have left, so there won’t be any disputes in the end about scratches or someone walking over newly laid tiles too early.

Normally a GU/GÜ wants an acceptance before such large EL are done. That the interior doors are still done then does not stand so much in the way. I explicitly had a partial acceptance because I still had electrical and exterior plastering work to be done.

I would only lay the floors after painting has been done. It makes life much, much easier. The hallway and kitchen are of course an exception. But you should be very sure that you can manage this on time, otherwise you will disrupt the construction schedule and that can also cause higher costs.

AFTER the measurement and the approval in consultation with the GU.

The general contractor will do the CM measurement in the next few days. Thanks for the information.
