Lay the sidewalk yourself

since I would like to lay my walkway from the garage to the house myself, using walkway slabs + curbstones, I would be interested in how you did it.

On the internet, you read many different how-tos, especially about when to use the vibrating plate.

Then I also wanted to ask how you made your terrace. With a concrete base or a normal gravel bed.

.. that depends on what you imagine as the result and what kind of plates you have planned.

For this purpose, manufacturers usually provide corresponding notes in their catalogs / technical documents.

With us, everything is with gravel and crushed stone subbase.

I built all the paths and terraces myself with the support of my father.
Substructure gravel + crushed stone.
Gravel compacted with a vibratory plate, then crushed stone added. The crushed stone was also lightly compacted and leveled. Then stones or slabs were placed on top. Finally, compacted again with the vibratory plate.
