Hello,

I have another question about materials. The developer stated in his construction description that he will use either lime sand brick or Poroton for the walls.

Are the two materials the same price-wise? (plus insulation Kfw 60 house). Or can I negotiate a better price with one of the two materials?

Best regards

Hello,

both stones probably have the size 17.5 cm for load-bearing walls and 11.5 cm for interior walls.

Hello Cmajere, hello Jörg,

it also depends a bit on where you build. In southern Germany, more bricks are probably used (Poroton is also a brick, whose clay measurements are mixed with styrofoam beads), and in northern Germany, more sand-lime bricks are probably used. However, for a building, one should decide on a stone for building physics reasons, with which both the exterior (or the inner shell of the exterior wall in double-shell masonry) and interior walls are equally constructed.

The brick usually has the higher thermal insulation capability, and the sand-lime brick has the higher compressive strength and mass, thus the higher sound insulation value.

By the way Jörg, the insulation of an ETICS does not necessarily have to be made of plastic (polystyrene). There are also systems made of mineral wool, which cost a bit more but, in my opinion, have better properties.

Hello Danton,

I know that – but usually the standard is polystyrene. Mostly as Styrofoam or rather Neopor board. If it should be thinner, then also aluminum laminated, etc. From the previous hints in cmajer's posts, I concluded that no "more elaborate" solutions will be implemented here.

In the meantime, I know that the ETICS consists of an "insulating plaster."

Systems made of softwood fiber would also be possible.

What do you think of the Poroton stone with the zeolite filling? I actually found that quite good in an early consideration phase.

Hello,

doesn't this stone crumble when cutting (if you only need half a stone)?

Or when drilling a hole to hang something, doesn't the filling spill out?

How is the insulation plaster to be understood? On the bare calcium silicate stone comes a kind of wool and then the insulation plaster? That way you don't have any suction cold bridges?

In the beginning, there were probably problems when the stones were stored wet. So exposed to humid weather. Similar to aerated concrete, which also crumbles quickly in your hand when it is wet. That is supposedly no longer a problem after improvements. I am not familiar with thermal insulation plasters, but I think the wool serves as an adhesive base for the rather thick plaster layer.
