hello,
since we moved in autumn 22, we have had dull cracking/tapping noises from the south roof above our bedrooms. More during sunshine, but also with cloudy skies and moderate temperatures. In the evening in bed long after sunset, the said noise occurs quite regularly (4-6 times per hour), occasionally also at night. Mostly a single dong, as if someone is throwing a tennis ball onto the attic. There are 12 photovoltaic modules on the south roof. These have already been rebuilt 3! times to exclude thermal expansion problems. In fact, there was peace for 2 weeks after the last installation, then the daily noises returned. I had already turned off the ventilation system, and I can rule out animals. The attic is accessible with 18 mm OSB as a pure storage space. Are such noises at this frequency still normal and attributable to settling behavior of the wooden roof truss (installed in April 22)? I lack experience here. It is a KFW55 in timber frame construction.
Roof structure:
light gray tiles
battens 40/60
counter battens 48/70
underlay membrane
glulam
mineral insulation WLG035
moisture protection
counter battens
battens
I would be very happy about your assessment/help
