Kivik Sofa IKEA - Remove the armrest screws

Hello,

I am currently trying to extend my Kivik sofa with a chaise lounge. Unfortunately, I am failing to remove the screws/ threaded rods of the armrest. The instructions only mention that you should remove the armrest....

Does anyone have a tip on how to get them out without breaking anything?

unscrew. If it doesn't work with your fingers, use pliers. Of course, only apply it where the thread may be damaged. Alternatively, screw on one nut, then a second one, lock both against each other, and then use the wrench on the inner nut to unscrew.

Locknut of course! *doh*
