What do you have? What is better? Advantages / disadvantages?

No underfloor heating.
In the kitchen, there is 1 east-facing window and a large north-facing window.
House from 1974.
No basement ceiling insulation yet.
Under the kitchen is the heating room (oil).

Tiles are simply too cold for me without underfloor heating, but they are also the most durable in the kitchen. Prefer vinyl.

I had tiles installed in the kitchen. Since there is underfloor heating and I had the old, additional radiator removed, this ensures the best heat emission. Pots usually do not fall down, at least that has not happened so far, so the likelihood of damage is low. I think porcelain stoneware can also withstand some impact. A falling knife should be manageable. If necessary, I of course have some spare tiles as a reserve. A disadvantage could be the hard floor if you stand in the kitchen for a very long time. In my old kitchen (rental apartment) I had classic PVC with a wood-like appearance. I had the impression that PVC somehow magically attracts dirt.

Vinyl is definitely a good alternative to tiles, especially since no underfloor heating is installed.

I almost let myself be tempted by this design floor (I think it’s vinyl) - looks a bit like parquet and is as soft as hard modeling clay
