Salt and pepper are simply on the table and accessible from the dining area. Drinks are placed on the countertop/bar. What comes from the fridge is far away anyway (unless a base cabinet is reachable as a drink fridge from the dining area).

I once had it like this in the townhouse with a half wall breakthrough, creating a kind of continuous island. On one wall of the island, everything was within reach for the stove and dining table. The path through the hallway was not long – I considered it a good compromise.
