Hello everyone,

we have purchased a 50-year-old bungalow.
It needs to be completely renovated. So everything except the foundation walls will be removed (screed, electrical system, heating, water, sewage, basically everything).
A geothermal transfer station is already installed.
A floor will be added on top. It will be an efficiency house (approx. 100-85).

Do we qualify for the increased subsidy with the Renewable Energy Act class?

The condition is:
"During a renovation to an efficiency house, the new heating system must be part of the renovation to receive funding."
We cover at least 55% of the energy demand from district heating geothermal energy.
However, the transfer station is already there.
Now it is interesting what is meant by the "new heating system"...

Best regards

Quick question - why only an energy-efficient house 100 or 85 with a complete renovation, and not below that? Since you are doing everything anyway, aren't there more possibilities to do even better?

Hello,
That would be very desirable.
However, we cannot alter the basement floor much because of the build-up height, and we still want to excavate along the basement walls outside.
So only insulation on the inside.
Therefore, we will definitely achieve 100-85.
Anything better is desirable.
Best regards

It should not only be desirable. It should be mandatory for you. Given the subsidies and the small additional effort. The basement ceiling should be able to accommodate 10-12 cm of insulation. I don’t need more (+20 mm under the underfloor heating) to achieve KfW 55.
