Dear readers of the house building forum,
for over two weeks it has been raining into our (until yesterday) completely open dormer (although there is now a roof on it, the sides are still open).
Unfortunately, it not only rained into the rooms but also from above into the insulation (i.e. between the inner and outer masonry). The insulation had not been covered until yesterday.
My wife has noticed for over a week that it drips from all three terrace door frames upstairs (unfortunately, she only informed me yesterday).

Now I would like to hear your opinion on this?!
We are very afraid that we will have to deal with mold later.

Thank you very much for your answers!

In the case of mineral wool insulation, this condition is fatal. It appears to have been installed in your property. The front side is impregnated, but this insulation has no resistance against moisture from above. Inform the developer about this and let them know that you do not accept this condition as it is. Tell them that they should replace the insulation. If they do not do this, inform them that you will only accept the handover with reservation and will have thermographic recordings made to check the condition of the insulation. Or have an independent expert assist you.

Kind regards

Knauf Insulation is a stone wool. The problem with mineral wool or stone wool is that once it has become really wet, the wool no longer has the desired insulation values. Drying does not help, only replacement does.
