Is the sound decoupling of the chimney done correctly? Any experiences?

Hello,

can someone help me whether this is executed correctly?

We are having a masonry stove installed. For this, a row of stones was placed directly on the raw floor. This is built up to the interior wall (direct contact) to which the stove is to be placed, which is plastered.

Around this row of stones on the outside, the edge insulation strip and the insulation have now been applied. Inside the row of stones, of course, there is no insulation and no underfloor heating.
On the outside, the flow screed will then be installed and inside cement screed.

Is this then properly sound decoupled? Is it always done this way?

Best regards

Hello questioner. I only read your question today; the answer is: YES, this was carried out correctly! Sound decoupling begins where vibrations occur (this is the screed here) that must not be transmitted to the building structure. The masonry chimney does not belong to this. Otherwise, every fixed wall within an apartment would somehow have to be sound-decoupled from the raw ceiling, which would of course be nonsense. Regards: KlaRa
