Hello everyone,

I drove past a construction site today and noticed that up to a certain height, angled polystyrene boards (?) were used as insulation against the calcium silicate bricks. At the edge, a foil is attached to the masonry, which is then pulled up to the clinker and further clinkered on top of it. I have also seen that mineral wool was stuffed all the way down. Since we will be starting very soon as well, I am now interested to know whether there is really a difference, or if these are just two possible versions.

Here is a photo of it again:

In the execution shown in the picture, insulation that is not absorbent is installed in the lower area. On this insulation, the waterproofing is carried outward so that water can be drained outside through drainage openings.

Above this hard, non-absorbent insulation, the soft insulation is installed and held by tiles on the wire anchors on the inner masonry.

This design of the base area, as in the photo, is the one I consider correct because it complies with the standard.

Regards

Okay, then I hope that will be done the same way with us... it is not described in the BB ;) but well, not much is described there...

Just ask for a detailed drawing of the base area.

It could then look like this. (sorry for the bad photo)

Thanks a lot - also for the scan, we will talk to him about it - is it actually a defect if he doesn’t do it? The BU actually has a good reputation and is very locally rooted. I just don’t think he will do it if he usually does it differently :D

I cannot say whether it is a defect. I am very cautious with such statements.
