Is the construction project feasible and realistic?

1.5 years ago is quite a difference. We are taking a "standard house," where we still make changes. The base price of the house alone has been raised by about €20,000 from the beginning of the year until now (fortunately, we have a fixed price). And of course, various costs around it as well.

Hm.... 1.5 years justify but no difference of 500/sqm I guess that by family member rather a relative is meant, who does not want to show off Or it is not a very good quality house. Or, or, or it is a very cheap building location where he built ..

Yes sure! Building location, quality of materials, etc. of course play a big role

The geographical proximity to Poland could also have a financial impact here.

LOL

An acquaintance who does rough construction said he takes 25 €/h under the table.
At the same time, he works for a rough construction company that charges about 60 €/h.
Even a landscaping gardener charges 40 €/h here in the southwest.

I believe that immediately, that's why I wrote: 20 euros/h upwards.
Here in North Hesse, wages and living costs are also significantly lower than in the south or southwest. It's hard to compare. When I see what a no-frills semi-detached house in the surrounding area costs down there, you can get a small palace here for that.
