Hi,

I am planning to waterproof my basement exterior wall again. It is about 5 meters long. Now I am considering what I should use. Reactive waterproofing or bitumen thick coating. Are there any experience reports? Reactive has advantages in processing. But is it really recommendable? For example, WeberSuperflex d24 or Mem Express dicht.

Bitumen, on the other hand, is proven for the long term.

Modern material vs. material used for ages. Both, however, with the same result in the end.

Whereas if I have read correctly, reactive is not approved according to the corresponding [din norm].

No, reactive sealing is standard-compliant and even mandatory in monolithic buildings (plinth), since plaster does not adhere to PMBC.

So I can use WeberReaktivabdichtung or Remmers without hesitation and don't have to worry that in the long term it will perform worse than the well-known old bitumen.

You can also do both. So first everything mineral-based, then base coat at the top, and afterwards PMBC on the parts in contact with the ground (which you don't see). That's how it was done for me.
