Good morning everyone,

we have a new build that we (if all goes well) can move into in September. Unfortunately, the flooring is still missing for our happiness. We would like to have parquet laid in the living and dining rooms. Because we have underfloor heating, my husband would like it to be glued down. We were at the hardware store yesterday and liked a parquet that was even in stock (which is currently more the exception). However, the salesperson at the hardware store said that this parquet is not suitable for gluing down because of its "fold-down" installation method. Our parquet fitter is unfortunately on vacation and we are a bit clueless. Can someone tell us if parquet with this "fold-down" installation method really cannot be glued down, but must only be laid floating?

Thank you for your answers!

You were really advised by a genuine conifer (that's what experts are called, right?). Why shouldn't that work? It should even be much easier than click parquet. Don't worry. This is actually something for relaxed DIY work.

Hello questioner. Basically, the installation method of a floor panel is irrelevant. Therefore, nothing decisive can be derived from the note >"fold-down" installation method<. What is decisive is rather and exclusively the manufacturer's information, which can be found on the outer packaging of the floor panels. So if the advisor at the hardware store has read this and passes on the information that the flooring type should only be installed floating, you should definitely take this into account. Not every panel back allows for full-surface gluing! In this respect, take another look at the packaging at the hardware store and look for the corresponding information on the packaging! After all, the hardware store recommends Lugato parquet adhesive for its own brand. That's already a strong indication for possible gluing ;)

Regarding the previous answers, the following:
"Fritzle" had given the general note in his initial post that "a parquet floor was chosen, which is even in stock."
No indication, therefore, of the manufacturer and parquet type.
But he would like to glue it down over the entire area. Which certainly makes sense with underfloor heating.
Now I wrote that it is not the laying method that is decisive for the possibility of gluing a certain parquet type, which we still do not know, but only the manufacturer's indication.
Now comes another answer, "At least the hardware store recommends Lugato parquet adhesive for its own brand. That is already a strong indication of possible gluing."
Then I have to ask once where the background knowledge (for this reply from "User200") comes from, on which specific parquet type this statement is based? In this forum, no corresponding indication was given in any case.
A hardware store recommends Lugato parquet adhesive for its own brand. Did the questioner "Fritzle" write that he intends to buy a hardware store's own brand? Does the hardware store's information actually refer to the parquet that "Fritzle" chose?
NO!
Because in the first post, after he found his favorite parquet, he clearly writes:
"However, the salesperson in the hardware store said that this parquet is not suitable for gluing because of its "fold-down" laying method."
My question now to "User200":
If the salesperson clearly denies the glueability of the parquet selected by "Fritzle," why do you write, contrary to the acquaintance, that the hardware store recommends LUGATO adhesives for its own brands, and that this general note is probably (contrary to the hardware store consultant's indications) an indication of being able to glue the selected parquet after all?
:
In this forum, besides serious answers, only those answers should have their place which are usable for the questioner, do not contradict themselves, and do not lead him into an obvious trap!

The thread creator had linked the parquet at the beginning. probably still noticed that. According to the forum rules, the link has apparently since been removed and the user possibly as well.
