Is it recommended to have a bathroom and toilet with few wall tiles?

Hello everyone,

we are currently choosing our floor and wall tiles. At first, I thought we would only tile the shower area / shower niche on the wall completely.

I actually intended to just plaster the WC area and the sink area to make it look a bit more homely, even though you don't really spend much time sitting in the bathroom :-)

1. What do you think? Would that be too daring? Would it be better to have the WC & sink area tiled over 1m or 1.2m as well?
2. If WC & sink area are tiled, should we also tile the side wall of the WC area? See sketch

We have tiled all splash areas on the wall.
Stains on the wallpaper won't come off eventually.
Some (guests) stand while peeing, you sometimes wash dirty garden hands, or pour a bucket of dirty water into the toilet. I don't even want to think about a clog and its dirty removal.

That is not so easy to answer. Apparently, I splash around like a walrus when grooming my beard and am grateful for the tile backsplash. Are there children living in the household? Then, all the more, I veto tiles from the sink up to the next towel holder. Unfortunately, we don't have that, so the very expensive wallpaper, desired by the housekeeper, gets quite stained from the wet, soapy, half-clean paws.
Tadelakt is supposed to be good, but I haven't seen a groutless bathroom without cracks yet.

Thank you both. I will then tile the areas as well. So behind the toilet and the sink. I would leave out the side wall of the toilet for now.

How high do people usually make half-height tiles? Can you say that in general, so that it harmonizes with the sink and a mirror or mirrored cabinet?

As you wish, the specified sanitary fixtures, or door or window openings provide the templates in the room

We are planning with wall-mounted fittings. I would have to measure. If I remember correctly, they were placed at a height of 1 meter. We would then probably place the washbasin height at around 85 cm. That means, if I let the tile of the washbasin protrude 30 cm, then the wall-mounted fitting would be relatively centered on the tile that protrudes :-)
