Is it possible to mount the IKEA GRYTNÄS front as a cover for the sink?

Hello everyone,

I have an 80cm wide base cabinet for the sink in my new METOD kitchen. Below there is a double drawer, and above there is a GRYTNÄS front, which is simply supposed to function as a panel. Unfortunately, I can’t find a way to attach the panel. Presumably, there is a corresponding individual part for this, but I haven’t been able to find it yet. According to the parts list, the Utrusta connector is supposed to serve this purpose. However, according to the instructions, this would mount the front to the drawer front(s), which is not the goal (the drawer already has two front pieces mounted together and it was definitely not planned for the upper front to pull out as well).

Best regards
Chris

Hello, a mounting bracket (124535) is included with the sink cabinet for this. Have a look in the manual on page 29.

Unlike the illustration in the user manual, the Grytnäs front has no drill holes at all. Is there a drilling template for this or something similar? If the panel is even a few millimeters crooked, you can see it immediately – this is really not the place where you want to work by eye. The fact that I have already installed the countertop and sink doesn't exactly make things easier either.

If the drawer front has no holes, then they forgot to drill them. Try to exchange the front. If it is no longer in stock, take a cheap HÄGGEBY front, drill the holes through, and use the front as a drilling template.

Thank you for the response - I remembered from the already installed fronts that there are no holes, but of course that is nonsense. So everything is fine.
