Hello, nice to have found this forum. I have read a bit and hope for an answer to my question.

We are just beginning to deal with building a house.
Currently have two children (third planned)

(edit: konkrete Zahlen rausgenommen)

I once heard that it makes sense to have 1/3 of the total financing amount as equity? Is a total amount of about 450T E feasible?

Thank you very much for the help in advance.

Best regards, Philine

Hello Philine,

That works, the repayment will then be approximately €1700-1800 per month, with 5% interest and 2% amortization.

The more equity, the less credit needs to be taken out. And the less costs arise from interest. It is also possible to finance a construction with less equity, easily even with only 1/5. Sometimes it can be more sensible to use as little equity as possible for the construction. Because as an investment, a private house is not always suitable, or there are much better and also secure investments. Additionally, it is always advantageous to have "cash reserves".

I can only agree with that.
