Is an energy consultant necessary for choosing the new heating system?

Hello,
We will soon need a new heating system,
or at least a new boiler.
What is the best way to proceed?
I am considering renewing the entire heating system or switching to wood.
Should one always hire an energy consultant
or first ask the local heating engineer?
I have some ideas but don’t know if they can all be realized.
Can I assume that every energy consultant is familiar with the current heating systems if they are allowed to issue a energy certificate?

no.... anyone can call themselves an energy consultant.... there are good ones and bad ones :)

There is also an energy agency near you in BW. Go there first and discuss your ideas; afterward, you will have a lot more information and also know a good energy consultant or how to find one ;)

Not necessarily, rather a TGA planner.

That should generally be the case. However, planning intricacies will not be conveyed. For the energy certificate, however, you need an EC.
