Is a U-profile equally loadable from all sides?

Hello everyone,

I have a general question.
If I support a U-profile externally and load it in the middle, is it actually equally load-bearing or does it make a difference where the open side is located?
I would have intuitively said that the open side facing upwards would be more load-bearing.
In various online calculators, you cannot rotate the profile, so it should be the same.

Sorry for the rather simple question, I am not a structural engineer.
