Is a rotary dimmer or a push-button dimmer more convenient to use?

Sure, I completely agree with you. The less manual interaction is required, the more convenient the technology is. In many areas where the light is dimmed, we don't have any switches or dimmers to touch at all. But if the topic in this thread is about deciding between A and B, then C might possibly be the suitable middle ground.

what I notice: there are some small differences that can make the same technique ((turning or pressing) more practical or less practical. Even for a light switch, the requirements are not always the same. Different things are important to different people and in different situations.

Sure, there are so many options out there. One light switch is louder than the other or the plastic feels "not right" and and and. The same applies to dimmers.

We have a rotary dimmer behind a built-in wall in our current apartment. It can be reached around the corner on the side and controls the indirect lighting behind the wall.
What annoys me a lot about this thing is that you have to press it quite firmly first to turn the light on or off.

Yes, the things are different. Just take the one you like best. After all, you do look at it even when you don't use the switch. The rest is a matter of habit.
