Is a financing contract possible before the building permit?

Do banks generally approve construction financing for a new build only once the building permit (simplified procedure) is available? Or can it also be submitted later (e.g., by the first disbursement)?

No, in most cases the financing is already secured at the time of purchasing the plot or signing the construction contract. The building application is submitted later. The financing does not depend on the building application.

I have secured my financing before the building application is submitted. This will only be submitted in July. You will then be under pressure to withdraw the funds. If you don’t get top conditions, I would wait a bit longer. At the moment, everything is very turbulent – there is no reason for interest rates to be where they are right now.
