Good evening,
we received our prefabricated house last week. It has a gable roof with a 38° pitch and during today's inspection it was noticed that no eaves flashing or drip edge was installed. The water that accumulates under the roof tiles flows down along the underlay and directly against the fascia board. The fascia board is already doomed to weathering. The installers say that this is standard with the house manufacturer and that the eaves flashing would have had to be specified.
Is anyone aware of a regulation or guideline that requires an eaves flashing? Because, according to my roofer acquaintance, the installation with eaves flashing is state of the art but I cannot provide this in writing.
Regards Marvin
