Good evening, I have a question about an extension. Is a building permit still required for a small extension of about 20-25 m²? A modest solution is planned for a new bathroom in an old house. The federal state is Saxony. I wish everyone a pleasant evening. Best regards Steffen

Yes, of course. Or do you think you can build 25 sqm now, then next year, and again in three years to bypass the approval for 75 sqm? The full program is required.

I don't want to circumvent anything. But I have heard that up to 30 m² is permit-free.

Buildings up to 75 cbm gross floor volume. But you are not building a single building (garden shed or similar). That is the difference. You can look it up in your building regulations.

Single outbuilding, of course no extension to a residential building.

Hi, thanks. That's a pity. Does anyone perhaps know a cost-effective solution for planning? Have a nice day. Regards Steffen
