So, now our soil survey has arrived. But even with the summary for the foundation recommendation, I can make little to nothing of it.

Which "keywords" should we be alert to or expect additional costs?

We currently have an example right outside our own front door of how it should not be done, where a large construction company (!) is building an office building on its own site. Unfortunately, when excavating the foundation pit, the street slipped and also took the water supply with it. Now our street is closed and the chaos is complete... I hope we are spared something like that, even on a small scale.

Hello,

I think I already told you elsewhere - it is not you who has to be able to read the soil report, but your provider or their site manager.

That cannot be answered in general; with one exception - if something about rock or clay is mentioned in the report, then it will get really expensive. Ask your provider/site manager and you can post their answer here again. Then we can roughly tell you what additional costs to expect or whether the stated additional costs are realistic.

This is the prime example par excellence if no soil report - assessing the stability of the soil - is created, or - even worse - no one in the company can read such a report. In my opinion, the encountered soil conditions were not taken into account for the slope angle.

Kind regards
