Interior walls, ceiling, etc.: spraying instead of painting?

We had it sprayed by professionals because we are indirectly lighting large ceilings. The result is unbelievably smooth, clean, and perfect. It could never be achieved with rollers. The only disadvantage: the ceiling may now only be touched with white gloves because repairs are not possible.

But, Steffen, a DIY project this probably isn't. Or would you have managed that on your own? Karsten
