Interior doors - Snap locks & latches made of plastic!?

after our interior doors were delivered and installed, I am quite surprised why the latch/bolt is made of plastic. This seems to be standard at various GUs, but it was not even part of the sample selection. What is the advantage, aside from it seeming cheap?

Cheaper to manufacture and less prone to wear.

Same here. No problems for 5 years.

I just checked now :p: all metal. But since I didn’t really know that, I would maybe overestimate it if one says it looks cheap. Nobody looks at that!

With us metal, but it doesn't matter.
