Hello everyone,

I have a material question that has been bothering me lately. What material am I dealing with (see attached picture)? Are these Heraklith / wood fibers / wood wool lightweight panels? I'm a bit worried.....

Thanks in advance for your expert help

Regards

Tim

How old is the house? Looks like "Sauerkrautplatten" - that would be wood fiber then.

Thank you for the quick response.

The house was built around 1968. The ceiling and the walls inside the dormers are "insulated" like this, and then the plaster is applied on top. So relatively uncritical material? The concern regarding asbestos is rather unfounded?

Only an expert can guarantee safety if they test the whole thing. If it's the sauerkraut panels, then yes, they are harmless.
