Hello community,
We are currently planning a round platform for a yurt (similar to a Mongolian yurt, see e.g. "Pacific Yurts") with a diameter of 9m. The platform will be built on point foundations, so the floor will be approximately 0.5m above ground level. The platform will be mostly enclosed up to the floor from the outside (e.g. using OSB boards). For the floor, we will use laminate; the outer walls and ceiling of the yurt already come with good winter-proof insulation.
For insulating the floor, we currently have the following plan in mind and would like to know if this is feasible and sufficient or what alternatives there might be.
Our plan - layer by layer from bottom to top: OSB board (22mm thickness) XPS rigid foam boards (30mm thickness?) Vapor barrier (or does this come in front of the XPS board?) OSB board (15mm thickness) Laminate flooring
It should also be noted that electrical wiring and (waste) water pipes have to run through the floor, as this is not possible through the exterior walls of the yurt.
Thank you very much in advance; we look forward to any kind of advice!
Best regards from Austria, Michael
