Hello everyone,

we have a glass folding element in the living room. Unfortunately, the guide rail is completely made of aluminum, which creates a thermal bridge. Additionally, the element only has a brush seal, which of course lets a lot of cold air into the house in the current weather, condensing directly on the guide rail, causing me to dry the rail from the inside with a cloth several times a day to prevent water from getting onto the floor.

The whole issue is now with a lawyer, but I am looking for a quick solution to insulate it from the outside somehow, because mold is already forming on the side walls, and winter has not even really started yet.

Can XPS boards placed on the outside in front of the elements help somewhat? There will surely always be gaps where cold air still comes in... Maybe sandbags on top to close the gaps?

It really does not have to be an aesthetic solution, but the influx of moisture on the side walls must urgently be stopped somehow.

Many thanks in advance for your creative answers!

Christian
