Dear friends,
I need your help. From a never finished swimming pool extension with a flat roof, two rooms are to be made. On the right side is the garage, on the left side the conservatory, and straight ahead the garden. Since the ceiling height is only 2.00 m, I want to go 0.80 m down from the 1.5 m depth of the pool. I do not want to fill the empty space with 0.70 m below with tons of concrete, but rather build it with a wooden structure. The beams will be supported with joist hangers, 60 cm spacing between the beams, wooden supports will be placed underneath the 3.80 m beams in the middle, on roofing felt so that there is no contact with the concrete, to prevent the beam from bending.
Between the beams, (2 beams with 14 and 6 cm height battens) 20 cm of compressed insulation fleece, cross battens from below so that they do not fall through, foil, 25 mm OSB boards on top, and laminate flooring on top. Done.
The house is on a slope, at the back there will be a window 3.00 m wide, the slope was cut back by 0.80 m so that it forms one level with the interior room.
Question about insulation: Does the floor have to be insulated so thickly since there is no moisture below and the pool is 1.50 m underground,
Is it sensible to insulate the garage side from inside the garage, since 0.70 m is technically under the garage because I lowered the inside level?
The same for the garden, I wanted to excavate 1.50 m on that side, insulate the wall up to the base, and fill in 70 cm again, to have the same level as inside, but then the 0.70 m downwards, where the empty space under the bedroom is, is insulated.
Should I keep the empty space below me airtight or drill through the wall to the outside and, for example, install 100 mm ventilation pipes for circulation?
Thank you very much
