Hello everyone,
directly attached to a completely renovated house (windows, ETICS) is a garage and one floor below the former oil tank room. The house is insulated with Styrofoam ETICS WLG 035 120mm.
Now I would like to insulate the wall in the former oil tank room as well and afterwards reinforce and plaster it. The wall is about 2.5 x 4m, cleaned, clean and above all dry. It was plastered by myself 40 years ago and is therefore slightly uneven.
I would now like to insulate this wall on my own, as the little room does not have to win a beauty contest. It should only be functional and easy to manage. I received different tips from various craftsmen of different trades. For example, I was advised to use rigid foam boards and adhesive mortar. I could apply the adhesive mortar quite thickly behind the boards to compensate for unevenness. An additional fixation of the boards is not necessary. Then spray the joints with PU foam, cut it off after curing and finally plaster in a reinforcing mesh.
What would you recommend to me? Should I do it like that and if yes, with which products? Or am I completely on the wrong track?
Thanks and best regards, Domi
