We want to insulate an uninsulated wall inside the unheated garage (concrete hollow block, those gray stones with hollow chambers, roughly porous with 24 cm thickness with exterior and interior plaster each 1 cm (built in 1989) and presumably very poor U-value) ourselves. On the other side of the wall are the kitchen and bathroom (so they share this wall with the garage), insulation therefore seems appropriate given this poor stone. There is generally increased moisture in the garage (unheated and floor sloping toward the rear garage door), during heavy rain water dripping onto the garage door flows over the lower rear garage door (opening at the bottom) into a drain here.
Are silicate boards suitable for insulating this wall in the unheated garage? Or what would be recommended? The roof is insulated and covered with drywall.
