Hello dear forum members,

our sanitary ventilation passes through the vapor barrier and the insulation between the rafters into the cold roof and then goes outside over the roof.
Does the pipe need to be additionally insulated in the cold roof or is that not necessary?

Thank you very much!

No! If anything condenses there, it happens inside the pipe and the condensate is then perfectly safe there.

Thank you for your answer. Would it make any difference if the pipe were insulated?

No, that doesn't matter

condensate can also form outside the [Rohr]

It is important that the pipe does not make U-shaped bends. Condensate must be able to drain back properly.

With us, it looked like this in the cold roof before the insulation. Then a vapor barrier was applied on the concrete, followed by the insulation. While reviewing the pictures, I just realized that I need to check whether they ultimately placed the wood fiberboard they used here as a spacer for the slope above or below the vapor barrier. Otherwise, this board will absorb moisture and start to rot.
