Insulate basement walls from the inside with panels

1 basement room with 3 exterior walls and one wall adjacent to other basement rooms is to be used as a workshop. One exterior wall borders soil, the other two are free. I want to insulate and clad the exterior walls from the inside now, meaning 4 cm thick battens on the wall, insulation in between, and OSB boards as a finish. Which insulation should I use? Vapor barrier between insulation and OSB? Or is all this wrong? So many questions..... Thanks and regards

Is there already insulation on the exterior walls? (Perimeter insulation / XPS / EPS / "Styrofoam" boards) If not, so only a protective coating against moisture, you would shift the dew point, but in my opinion this would be negligible for a concrete basement. With a masonry basement, it depends on the stone material and possibly further wall construction. However, I would only do interior insulation with moisture-resistant material, and the basement should then be kept at least somewhat heated and ventilated permanently. The things described above I report only from my own life experience, so layman’s opinion! Incorrect insulation usually leads to major building damage (mold etc.), so it is better to consult experts who can provide not just opinions but knowledge ;-)

Our basement is insulated inside and outside with an aluminum-foil laminated insulation material, on top of that battens and in between again styrofoam, and then comes the drywall.
