Hello,
I want to insulate my pitched roof anew. The house was built in 1955. In 1995, as part of modernization measures, the roof was re-roofed and a so-called Thermodach insulation was installed under the roof tiles. The attached picture is just an example to show which Thermodach insulation (blue boards) it is.
Now to my approach.
- I would like to insulate the rafters from below with Isover or Rockwool between-rafter insulation. What is most suitable here? Which vapor barrier/retarder/membrane do I need, since as far as I know there are 3 different vapor membrane foils from Isover, I always thought one needs a vapor barrier with mineral wool...
- The intermediate ceiling should also be insulated; it is a beam ceiling. How does the structure work here? Under one area there is also the bathroom, does it need extra work with a vapor barrier from below? The floor structure will then consist of a 38mm chipboard.
Hope I haven’t forgotten anything...
Thanks and regards, Egos
