Install wall panels afterwards?

Hello, I need some advice. I have an Ikea Faktum kitchen (open to the living area). My move-in two years ago had to happen relatively quickly, so I couldn’t spend ages fussing over the kitchen design. What I didn’t really consider back then is the tiled backsplash on the wall: those typical shiny, run-of-the-mill kitchen tiles. Compared to the white kitchen with birch-colored elements, it looks very sterile. Especially since it now really annoys me when I look at the tiles from the sofa. Now my question: Is it possible to install wall panels afterwards without taking the whole kitchen apart? I think those Imperativ glass panels would look very chic. Second question: What if the panels don’t have the exact size, so they don’t fit perfectly between the countertop and the wall cabinet? Can they be cut? I’d be very grateful for your help and experience.

As far as I know, retrofitting is not possible. Cutting also does not work because it is safety glass and when cut, it shatters into millions of pieces like a car side window.... Sorry...

You would have to remove the wall cabinets and the countertop panels.

The wall cabinet can just hang over the panel; the panels are very thin so you wouldn’t notice it. However, you would have to remove the wall cabinets, which can be done quickly with a cordless drill and a second person.

Hello,

thanks first of all for your answers.
I thought maybe the glass could be cut by the glazier, of course not by myself.

"Just quickly taking down the wall cabinets" is unfortunately not that easy: since the wall is totally crooked, we have painstakingly fiddled around and wedged some strips and so on behind some cabinets so that they are on the same level. So I have to think about it carefully. Especially since the cabinets are, of course, nicely stuffed full.
