Install IKEA FAKTUM wall cabinet with 2 glass doors on the wall

Here he is again, the "favorite moose" with a mundane? problem.

Need to attach a cabinet to the wall. The cabinet is pre-assembled except for the doors. When I then see these 2 small angle brackets that are screwed to the side walls, I have absolutely no confidence that they are supposed to hold a filled cabinet.

I haven't had any experience with wall mounting cabinets for 35 years, but I do know one thing. Somehow the mounting parts looked different and were more solid before. Since the cabinet will not be hung in front of tiles, direct wall mounting is an option.

Has anyone already attached wall cabinets with the angle bracket (115753) on page 16 to the wall, of course with wall hooks and anchors in the wall?

What would be suitable as a spacer for mounting over tiles?

Would like to "hang" the cabinet soon because my wife will soon stop "cooking" for me.

Yes, yes, the brackets hold. I had attached my 92 cm horizontal cabinets with them. More important are proper wall plugs and screws adapted to the substrate. By that I expressly do NOT mean those from Ikea. The screws should be as shown in the instructions, with a pan head, NO countersunk or hook screws. You can find plenty of options at the hardware store. I usually take sets from Fischer. Depending on the distance, you could use nuts or washers as spacers.
It’s best to take the adjustment plates as samples so the screws fit well through the holes.

My 92 cm x 80 cm cabinet is also only attached with brackets and heavily loaded. It is best to use classic half-round wood screws. Chipboard screws cut into the dowel without spreading it well. If using chipboard screws, they should be the maximum diameter specified for the dowel.

A small board is sufficient as a base. Usually, offcuts from wood cutting, which you can get for free, are enough. If you drill a hole through it, you can simply hang the piece of wood on the screw.

When I saw the half-round screws in the illustration, I was first shocked. I had already bought the usual duo "Fischer dowel with hook screw". I’ll exchange it then. You just can’t believe it.

also an IKEA fan :rolleyes: He confirmed to me that his wall cabinets are still hanging. He now has more dowels than wall cabinets and gives me a few.
