Hello everyone,

I want to install a "stone wall" for the look in the new building.

Currently, all walls are coated with two layers of lime plaster. However, one wall should have a different look.

There are 3 options to clad the wall....

1. Wallpaper
but it is not my favorite because it does not look very authentic.
2. Real stone cladding
You probably can never remove it again without damaging the plaster.
3. EPS cladding
will probably also be glued. The question is only how well it can be removed again if you no longer like it.

Currently, number 3 is the favorite.
Does anyone have experience with such a system? How well can it be dismantled again?
Is the system difficult to work with?

Regards

I have no experience with it. Only with real stone veneers (easy to work with) and Planeo real stone slabs (only a few mm thick, size 60x40cm - simply stick them on the wall). But I wouldn’t put plastic pseudo-stones on the wall in a new building. Stucco strips glued on plaster (also just styrofoam) have also led to superficial detachment of the plaster. If you care about the well-being of the wall or the plaster, then glue a painter’s fleece underneath. Then, no matter what you put on it, you won’t have any problems.

Thank you for the tips,

if I stick painter's fleece on the wall, can I normally stick real stones on it without them coming off?

I don't want to remove the stones in 10 years and completely replaster the wall underneath.

The thing with the fake stones is true. Unfortunately, I haven't seen them in the original so far. In pictures, they look very authentic.

At least that’s what the painter explained to me.

I really don’t think so...

Completely replastering is exaggerated. Smoothing once fits better.

Smoothing is not quite so easy with fine plaster that is matted. Here the surface is not completely smooth.

You will have to die one death. Bonding without traces is not possible. The idea of placing fleece in between is good, maybe a thick/heavy one.
