Hello everyone,

our construction contractor has planned two inspection shafts DN 400 in his plans. One for rainwater and one for wastewater.

Do they have to be installed? And what do they cost including installation?

We also have a transfer shaft DN 1000, of course...

We are supposed to cover the costs for the inspection shafts, so my question is whether this is really necessary...

Hello,

Then rainwater and wastewater must be separated according to the textual stipulations.

If the textual stipulations require the separation of both waters, you also need 2 inspection shafts; approx. € 600-800 each/material/installation. These shafts are the owner's responsibility and are part of the ancillary construction costs. In case of a possible error report, you will be glad that there is a point on your property where an inspection is possible.

Kind regards

I wonder what exactly the I-shafts are for. We do have an inspection shaft. In case of error messages, you can also check there, right, or am I mistaken? And in which "textual provisions" is it stated that we must have the I-shafts?

If I may revisit this thread: Are these inspection shafts actually a MUST or just a recommendation? If rainwater and wastewater need to be separated, should there be one shaft each for RW and another for SW? Thanks!

We do not have an inspection shaft for rainwater – only for wastewater. The rainwater is infiltrated on our property – the shaft for this is buried – if problems occur there, we would have to tear down our garden shed,...
