Hello.

I hope my post is not completely wrong in this forum...

Our earthworks contractor is currently setting the inspection chamber. He has placed a shaft ring without a bottom on the gravel bed and wants to pour the chamber floor. The inlet and outlet for the pipes have been chiseled out. That can’t be watertight. As a non-expert, it doesn’t look professional. I attached a photo here of how he is doing it.

What do the professionals think? Should I insist on a precast part with a chamber floor?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Metzer or civil engineer at work? Let the crap be torn out. A proper base part belongs on it, including the sockets for the pipes to be connected. It would not be approved by the city here. Why? Tightness cannot be guaranteed. Just the broken-out spots for the pipe entry would make a real civil engineer’s toenails curl.

Thank you for your reply. I will contact our local building supervisor and he will take a look at it. We pay for proper work and then it must be done properly.
