Hi,

what would you recommend for impact sound insulation for a laminate floor?

It should be something high-quality that really reduces the impact sound in the apartment below.

What options are there?

I found the "Silent CT" by Haro very impressive during the demonstration. These are thin adhesive strips on the underside of the laminate planks, with which the laminate is glued directly to the screed. However, the laminate can no longer be removed so easily then.

Did you also decide on the Silent CT impact sound insulation? How is the long-term experience? I am currently facing the same decision...

Hello, we ultimately decided on a "normal" impact sound insulation, about 3mm thick, heavy, aluminum-laminated. It should be better for underfloor heating.

In a single-family house with a bedroom on the upper floor, you probably shouldn't overestimate the impact sound insulation anyway. At night, everyone is in bed anyway, and even with the materials we used, airborne sound from doors etc. still comes through more clearly than the impact sound.

We were recommended by Parador in various stores multiple times the 1.8mm impact sound insulation including vapor barrier. Costs about 3-4€/sqm (2in1 saves one step of laying the vapor barrier, which is only necessary with new screed, otherwise irrelevant according to providers). Alternatively, there is also cork (rather bad for underfloor heating because it is an insulating material) or synthetic fabric underlays.

Between the expansion joints from room to room, directly under the door leaf, spray cork was recommended. This goes through all layers down to the screed.
