Ikea Worktop Numerär / Birch or Beech

Hello everyone, in the market I was told that the difference between the beech and birch boards was just a matter of taste, one being light and the other reddish darker. I chose birch because it looks rather light yellow in the market and in the sales picture. When unpacking the boards, I noticed that although the article number is correct, the birch boards look just as reddish as the beech boards or the thin LAGAN. Are the wrong ones packed there? I actually think beech would be better, but I decided on birch only because of the color tone. By the way, is treatment with Ikea BEHANDLA oil sufficient?

Wood is a natural product. Color deviations are therefore completely normal. The birch board does not look like the beech, that’s just deceptive, believe me, or do you have a direct comparison? We once had Billy doors in the complaint that also had a slight reddish tint in the birch wood. That’s just how it is. This individuality is precisely what makes wood special. If you want 100 percent the same décor, you have to choose Präg Walnut.

Yes, treatment with Behandla is absolutely correct. And always follow the instructions on the oil or in the board packaging, then you will enjoy your board for a long time.

Hello, yes I have the direct color comparison available, since I previously had a Lagan beech in it (reddish). The Numerär birch board looks exactly the same (red tone) and visually has nothing to do with the yellow board in the link picture or in the model kitchen. Regards N.
