Hello!

I just registered here because I need to furnish a 100 m² apartment soon. The whole thing should be as "Ikea-based" as possible!

Since I currently need to clarify the flooring issue first, I wanted to ask if anyone has experience with Slätten laminate. I understand that for the price of 3.50 I can’t expect top-quality laminate, but does Slätten serve its purpose? How about durability? Is it basically done after 5 years? Many people advise against cheap laminate, but I need an objective opinion on this. I know apartments with cheap laminate that still look good after 5 years. Expensive doesn’t always mean much better...

I simply have to buy an inexpensive floor. As I said, I have 100 m² to furnish and renovate. That adds up. Baseboards aren’t cheap either.

It would be nice if someone could help me out. I would lay the laminate on about 60 m². (So only the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom would not be covered).

Regards

Michèl

Hi!

Yes, I had read that too!

But Tundra also means paying more than double. That's why I was looking for reviews.
I just want to know how much worse "Slätten" is and how much it can withstand.
For about 70 m² of laminate, that's still 308 € less!

What’s the use of 8 more years of warranty if he doesn’t have the money for the other laminate...? Not everyone can just spend 300,- more nowadays, just because suddenly there is more warranty behind it.

@Darkbrain or Michael:

There is a report that the inexpensive laminate also holds up after several years of heavy use by pets & children.

Depending on where you live, a used laminate floor or a good PVC floor as a start might also be interesting, right? My brother also bought a used laminate for his hallway & living room as a student and it has lasted for several years...

Regards
