I connected 2 Pax cabinets measuring 75x35x236cm each and installed a KOMPLEMENT shelf insert (25x35x236cm) in each cabinet so that they stand to the right and left of the "double-walled middle connection". In the end, I wanted to install the PAX AULI sliding doors, but found that the lower aluminum guide rail has a cutout for the spot where the two cabinet walls are connected, but not for the vertically standing shelf walls. See photo (sorry, I don’t quite understand how to insert images here):
The service hotline suspects that this combination simply won't work and that I will have to switch to hinged doors. But that would mean I’d have to drive all the stuff 100km back to Ikea. And for space reasons, I would prefer the sliding doors. Maybe it’s possible to saw something off the aluminum rail? (The service hotline said this is not possible because of the warranty.) Or maybe the shelf walls could be sanded down a bit on the bottom standing surface to create space for the rail.
Does anyone have experience with this problem? Many thanks in advance for helpful tips!
