Ikea Nesttun bed assembly - tips?

Dear community,

I just bought the Nesttun bed (160cm), which has been new in the range since April. However, I can't manage to assemble the headboard and frame together. The screws that are supposed to attach the two sides to the headboard don't hold (because they are not long enough to reach the thread) and always fall out immediately. Am I overlooking something or is this a production defect? Does anyone have experience with Nesttun?

Hello, just to be sure: have you taken into account the position of the screw sleeves in the head and foot parts ([Abb 1 in der Anleitung])? Regards, IKEA-Freund
