Hello,

I would like to buy the Markus swivel chair:

Ikea Markus swivel chair, black Glose Robust black.

Since it should stand on parquet flooring, I would like to know if you can tell me whether there are parquet casters available for this chair?

Hi everyone,

I’m digging up this old thread again.

I would also like to buy a MARKUS. I was at one of the stores on Saturday and asked one of your employees if there are parquet rollers for it. I was told that such rollers used to exist, but they are no longer offered. Now, I don't want to put a plastic floor protector in my living room, that’s out of the question.

My question therefore is: Where can I get the suitable parquet rollers for MARKUS? Or do rollers from other suppliers also fit? In that case, I would be very interested in the diameter of the retaining pins of the rollers.

I hope someone of you can help.

Best regards

Philipp

I would simply buy one, take the rollers to the hardware store, if they don’t have any there, measure the bolt and search on the internet. If that were unsuccessful, I would return the chair and report my efforts here.

Even though it was a while ago, here is my opinion on it:

I had once gotten casters for another office chair that are supposed to be suitable for parquet floors. After extensive research, it turned out that you can recognize these casters with soft material (logically, you need soft casters for hard floors) by their two-tone color. Hard casters for soft floors are single-colored; mostly black.

I later bought the "Markus"... about 4 months ago. It has two-tone casters that are also relatively soft.

However, I want to mention that whether you see marks does not only depend on the casters but also significantly on the hardness of the wooden floor (or its surface) and the weight of the respective person. For me, this ultimately led to using a plastic mat... Marks were seen on the relatively soft plank floor after all.

Otherwise, "Markus" is really comfortable... I would buy it again.
